German Ambassador hands credentials to South African President Zuma
On January 17, Ambassador Martin Schäfer handed his credentials to President Jacob Zuma at the Presidential Guest House in Pretoria.
During the ceremony Ambassador Schäfer told President Zuma:
Germany and South Africa have so much to gain from each other: Dynamic trade, big investments in manufacturing for growth, firm commitment to green economy, vocational training for better jobs and good governance.
He added:
After once being the villains of the world, both Germany and South Africa, by the will and determination of our people, have become beacons of hope. Peaceful Change and reconciliation are possible. History can take positive turn after all. But we must work for that to remain!
